About the Journal

Journal of Islamic Educational Research (JIER) is currently accepting manuscripts for publication. JIER, a double blind peer-reviewed journal, is published by Islamic History, Civilization and Education, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. It is an online and open access journal comprises manuscripts in Malay and English  languages. It has been launched during International Seminar on Empowering Islamic Education 2016 (MADRASAH 2016).

JIER uses a continuous publishing model, according to which each manuscript is published individually once approved. The article can then be accessed online. All the approved manuscripts for the particular year will be combined in two volumes for the year. From 2016 to 2024, only one volume was published per year. However, starting in 2025, two volumes will be published annually.

Volume 11, No. 2 (2025) of the Journal of Islamic Education Research (JIER) was published online on 8 December 2025. This issue comprises seven peer-reviewed articles authored by 21 scholars from a diverse range of academic and professional institutions across India, Malaysia, and Indonesia, reflecting JIER’s continued international and interdisciplinary engagement. The contributors represent institutions including the SAFI Institute of Advanced Study, University of Calicut (India), the Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry and Balai Diklat Keagamaan, Banda Aceh (Indonesia), the District Education Office (Sektor Pembelajaran), Ministry of Education Malaysia, and the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ).
