Research and innovation is crucial in maintaining the credibility of educational institutions, including the Institute of Teacher Education (ITE). Preliminary findings from the Study on the Competency of ITE Lecturers in research, innovation, and writing indicate that these aspects are at a moderately high level. Therefore, there is a need to develop a model that serves as a guideline to foster a culture of research, innovation, and writing among ITE lecturers. In response to this need, the ReNo Competency Model (Research & Innovation) was developed using a Design and Development Research (DDR) approach. The developed ReNo Model was tested and evaluated for usability using the Modified Nominal Group Technique (NGT). A total of 38 participants, comprising lecturers from IPG Kampus Darul Aman and IPG Kampus Perlis, were involved in the model's usability evaluation phase. The findings indicate that the ReNo Model, which includes elements such as Spirituality, Attitude, Impact, Bureaucracy, Guidance, Support, Finance, Integrity and Ethics, Recognition, and Collaboration, is deemed suitable for use, with expert consensus exceeding 70%. In conclusion, the ReNo Competency Model produced is highly significant as a guideline to enhance the research and innovation competencies of ITE lecturers.
